People for Christ Ministries were founded by Pastor Keith and First Lady Elzonia Brooks in 1998. They grew from 3 congregants to over 23 in less than 30 days. Thereafter they hired a small shop at Forest Drive shopping complex, which could only host about 70 people. A year after that they moved to bigger premises and thereafter they took over the supermarket of the same building complex.
In May 2005, Pastor and Sister Elzonia Brooks bought a church in the Range, Elsies River that hosts approximately 700 people.

The Church of the Living God is still on the move with 2 daughter churches and seven outreach points within the vicinity of Elsies River. God is stilling blessing the church as needy souls find their way to the cross.
