The Pentecostals are an Apostolic church in South-western Illinois (SE St. Louis) region since 1936. Known as the First Pentecostal Church at 620 Minnie, it was moved to 400 Louisa in 2001 and renamed Apostolic Worship Center.
AWC has sponsored a K-12 Christian school (St. Clair Christian Academy) since 1977. When SCCA moved to 400 Louisa Avenue in 2001 it was renamed Apostolic Learning Academy (ALA).
AWC is affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI, Hazelwood, MO).
ALA is affiliated with the Division of Education - The Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (ACTS, Association of Christian Teachers & Schools). ALA is affiliated with the Accelerated Christian Education School of Tomorrow near Nashville, TN (formerly of Lewisville, TX). ALA's students earn an accredited degree when completing a dual-enrollment program with ACE.
